Their relationship expands to include the intern’s family and provides Brock both hope and assimilation into the culture.

Brock quickly learns that his high-tech skills of the 21st century are useless in the manual society he finds himself. However, he’s a quick study, learning much more than he teaches among those he encounters. Some character lessons will last him a lifetime.

Ben Franklin, one of the greatest minds of the 18th century, eventually listens to Brock’s plight and, after seeing the evidence of his claims, reluctantly joins the pursuit of answers. But even Brock is not optimistic a way home is possible.

The late night stranger at Trip Sinclair’s door in the rural development south of Livingston, TX, claims he’s Ben Franklin, lost and confused. Although the middle-age man looks the part, Trip wants nothing to do with the charade; he’s got his own problems.

But Franklin’s engaging persona spurs Trip to challenge the performance as a means of determining the man’s true identity. A chance encounter with a young librarian compounds the situation when her retired-sheriff father assumes the two men are terrorists.

Fluctuating trust between Trip and Franklin complicates what becomes a share mission far beyond East Texas on which Trip learns more than her ever expected.
